We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. Ever.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to complete an order (see below), or to meet legal requirements.

Newsletter

The Queenie and Herc Newsletter provides occasional updates on the Queenie and Herc Project and this website. Signup for it requires only your name and an email address. Optionally, you can assist us by providing additional demographic information that may help us determine how best to improve the website. The Information that you provide us in signing up for the newsletter is, and always will be, secure. You can opt out of the Newsletter at any time using a link that appears at the bottom of any Newsletter you receive from us.

Club Membership

Signing up for membership in the Queenie and Herc Club (giving you full access to the on-line novel) generates two sets of data about you: transaction data for payment, and very basic data that is used to control and support access to the Website’s Member Services section, and the full on-line novel viewer.

Transaction Information. At this time we exclusively use the familiar secure services of , now an E-Bay company, to perform transaction processing to accept payment from visitors to buy membership. PayPal maintains all records and information regarding payment (i.e., credit card information, etc.) within their secure information system, not ours.  We refer you to the very strong privacy policy of  for any questions on those issues. You should feel very comfortable with their widely used process, which today no longer requires that you become a Pay Pal member. Virtually any credit card will suffice.

Member Information We Maintain. To support your membership, and the log on function that goes with it, we maintain a small automated data base on our secure server, containing your name, email address and password. If you are logged on, you will be able to go to a Member Services page to change your password, and even your email address.

Additionally, we record a Novel Bookmark (initially preset to the first page of the first chapter). The function of the bookmark is to allow you to personally select a specific novel page to remember, and then easily return to it at a later time. This approach has the advantage that your personal bookmark will always be available on any computer you log on to. If there appears to be a demand for it, we may allow for the recording of multiple bookmarks in the future.

Use of Cookies

Queenie and Herc uses "cookies" to further personalize your online experience. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on the hard disk you are using by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

Currently we only use a Return Cookie to remember the last page you were in when exiting the Novel Viewer. Then, if you later return to the novel on the same computer, the cookie is used to automatically take you to where you left off.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you do decline cookies, then this feature will not work. In that case, you could manually use the bookmark function to accomplish the same objective.

We may in the future use cookies for other functions that may similarly improve a visitor's experience on the Website.
